Brighton have reached an agreement to sign Newcastle winger Yankuba Minteh for a fee of £33 million.

Minteh recently joined Newcastle from Obi Odense in the Danish league for £5.9m last summer. But was release to Feyenoord on loan.

The 19-year-old winger has been in fine form for Feyenoord, Promotion ufabet managed by new Liverpool boss Arne Slot, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in 37 appearances in all competitions.

Newcastle are struggling financially and have had to offload a number of players, with Minteh attracting interest from Liverpool, Dortmund, Marseille, Nottingham Forest and Everton. But Brighton have emerged as the favourites.

The Athletic reports that Brighton have agreed a fee of £33m with Newcastle and the Magpies have given the green light for the Gambian youngster to discuss personal terms with the Seagulls.

For a fee of 33 million pounds, it will become Brighton’s most expensive purchase. Surpassing Joao Pedro, who was bought from Watford for 30 million pounds last summer.

Newcastle were seeking to sell Minteh in order to ease their difficulties with the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules (PSR). The club are leaving themselves open to a possible points deduction for next season if they fail to make sufficient sales before the June 30 reporting deadline.
