17-year-old midfielder Marc Bernal will be called up to pre-season training under German manager Hansi Flick.

New Barcelona coach Hansi Flick plans to call up 17-year-old Barcelona Athletic starlet Marc Bernal to train with the first-team squad for pre-season, UFABET which begins on July 10, Ufabet Sport reported on Saturday. 

Flick has scheduled players to report for pre-season training from July 10, although most players will not travel to play with national teams competing in Euro 2024 or Copa America. Even the Olympic football games 

Previous reports have suggested that Flick plans to bring up a number of young players from Barca Athletic to train during pre-season, with 20-year-old midfielder Marc Casado expect to be promote to the first-team next season. 

Before that, the youngster will also be visiting the club’s offices to sign his new contract, which has been agree upon between the player and the club. With this new contract, Barcelona are looking to ensure his continuity at the Catalan club for two more years, until 2026, while also having the option of extending this contract to three further years.

Bernal is consider by the Blaugrana sporting department as one of the more promising pieces of the new generation of players coming up from the academy and as a part of the team’s long-term future. Deco made this clear to Flick, and the German now wants to see his level in the upcoming pre-season.

Meanwhile, Barcelona sporting director Anderson Deco has advised Flick to call up 17-year-old midfielder Bernal to train as well. And the German trainer responded well. One of the future players from the La Masia training center will get the chance to prove whether he is good enough to follow in the footsteps of Lamine Yamal or Pao Gubarsi or not.
